Roger Daltrey’s “Use it or Lose It” Solo Tour: The Punk Meets the Godfather!

On October 13th, at the second stop on Roger Daltrey’s “Use it or Lose It” tour in Seattle, WA., Roger was joined on stage by Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam! Eddie hopped on stage just as Roger was in the middle of covering Pearl Jam’s “Better Man,” before joining him for “The Real Me.”  Simply amazing! The above video was the last song during the encore, which included a medley of Johnny Cash tunes. Yes, that’s Simon Townshend on guitar and singing Pete’s part (just like on “The Simpsons!” HA!)

Apparently, despite selling his tour as being only 1/4th Who material, it’s been reported that the set list so far includes only three of his solo songs with the rest being classic Who and a few choice covers during the two-hour show. Even some rarely played gems like “Tattoo,” “Pictures of Lilly,” and “Cache Cache” from the oft-panned “It’s Hard” made appearances in the set. Roger himself writes that his solo tour (and projects) is more of a hobby that keeps him fresh for touring with the Who, saying “I can’t not sing, it’s been the joy of my life.”
