Paul Weller and Rod Argent Reflect on Zombies’ “Odessey and Oracle.”

Recorded during the summer of love, and unreleased until the following year after the band broke up, The Zombies’ Odessey and Oracle has enjoyed a dedicated following and has become a critical favorite. The album features the Zombies’ best known track, “Time of the Season,” but happens to feature some of the finest British psychedelic rock. In the past couple of years, the original line up of the Zombies reunited to perform the album in its entirety (without guitarist Paul Atkinson who passed away in 2004).

BBC News took the opportunity to talk to lead songwriter Rod Argent, as well as Paul Weller of the Jam, to get perspective on the album from both the fans and musicians’ point of view. It’s a brief interview, but interesting nonetheless.
