Black Friday Marks Record Store Day Part Deux: The Re-Recording.

Alright, this one snuck up on me until yesterday, so like this year’s earlier Record Store Day announcement, I’ll be brief.

The folks who cooked up Record Store Day have struck up a deal with select venues to release some sweet items on this year’s so-called Black Friday sale. Scoping out the site, a few nice items include an alternate cover version of The Black Key’s latest, “Brothers;” a 180-gram re-print edition of George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass;” a Jimi Hendrix single of holiday songs including “Little Drummer Boy;” and my personal favorite, a DVD of Roky Erickson and The Black Angels in concert performing classics spanning his career (it’s called “Night of the Vampire”).

Check out the Record Store Day website for more swag, as well as a full list of participating shops.

And you thought you were going to escape the MADNESS?!
